Website Notifications Don't Always Benefit Their Visitors

As the current guise of the modern-day Internet began to take shape, the financial needs of a given website in the face of stiff competition also became established fixtures of web design and online promotion. It is practically questionable for a website to avoid taking taking advantage of various stock verification and customer manipulation tactics because it is not seen as outright immoral or predatory to do so. The ubiquity of these features on websites nonetheless causes the majority of Internet users to deride them as common annoyances.
Oftentimes, a website will present itself as respectful to potential customers' preferences by offering the capacity to block pop-up notifications, but this tends to be annoying because the option appears out of nowhere as a pop-up as soon as the website is first brought up. A similar pop-up might assume that visitors would want the website to be registered as their browser programs' home page and force them to go through the process of selecting "no" if they are not interested.
Because analytics data is so important to the continued success of any website in today's industry, every website installs cookies onto visitors' web browsers in order to collect this data. Nowadays, many websites bring up some kind of message box that notifies users that cookies are being installed on their computers and offer the option not to do so while claiming that they respect their consumers' privacy. This trend was spurred on by legislation that was recently enforced across the European Union.
Among many other elements that tend to delay visitors wanting to quickly access desired content are pages that directly restrict access to potentially sensitive content unless users input their dates of birth to "verify" that they are old enough for it. This is perhaps an understandable necessity because it would avoid certain legal risks, but viewers can quite clearly tell when websites are focused more on their own financial gains in other situations. These include forcing viewers using ad blockers to read about how using those harms the website's business and asking viewers to subscribe to the website's newsletter.
