A coder shared their most recent design with a large online community. It is a tool to help them copy user interface elements from websites into the Sketch tool. This allows them to generate ideas in less time. They wanted to know what other people thought about the tool.
The first person said they love the irony of the original poster's first copy. The original poster wrote back and said that they are glad somebody finally noticed. They added that if any of the community members wanted to look at their files, they could send them by email. A few people took the original poster up on their offer. One person said the original poster should just put a link in the comments instead of direct messaging or emailing the files to everybody.
The original poster got a lot of replies asking for the files from people who said they would like to try the tool. One person wanted to know if there was a variant of the tool for Figma. The original poster wrote back and said that they do not have one for that.
A different person said that the original poster should hook up with a AI/ ML person and see if it would be possible to make a tool to generate user interface templates from other site's elements based on some input parameters. They suggested automatic color detection, color palettes and similar parts of the user interface. Someone else seconded this suggestion.
A commentator wrote back and said that there is a similar tool that works as a library on desktop computers. One person wanted to know if it would work with XD. The original poster wrote back and said that for now, it only works on Sketch and Chrome. They might expand it in the future. One person asked if there is a charge for it and suggested that the original poster monetize the tool. The original poster then replied and asked how many people would pay for a tool like that, especially if it worked on Figma. Most said they would pay for it.
