Developers Offer Each Other Helpful Feedback and Tips for Updates

A person created a color shop that allows people to select a color palette with prices indicated. This person wanted experienced site designers to take a look at the site and provide comments, criticism or suggestions about how to improve upon the design. As usual, the range of comments is wide, and each person has their own opinion about the site's design.
One person provided detailed feedback to the original poster. Since the site's purpose is to sell colors, this person explained that the rest of the site should not use a whole bunch of colors. Only the colors that are for sale should be in color, and all of the text should be simple and in solid black. Having all of the text black will reduce visual clutter and put the focus on what is for sale.
The same reviewer noted that all of the site's icons do not look right compared to the minimal design elements in the user interface. The person suggested using simpler icons with text that is bigger and easier to read. The icons should be monochromatic in order to focus on the colors that are for sale. This person explained that the use of bold and contrasting colors is too visually distracting.
As a final comment, this single reviewer stated that there needs to be a better distinction between buttons that the visitor can click on and the rest of the user interface. This would provide an improved flow to the site and make it more clear as to what the visitor can do on it. The drop shadows should be removed for clarity, too.
A different reviewer commented that the site has poor accessibility. The original developer should add a mode for people who are color blind. Improving this accessibility would open up the site to a bigger range of customers. A few commenters made suggestions as to how this site's features could work. One noted that the site could be good for a custom color tee shirt shop in which the consumer could choose the level of saturation of the fabric dye.
