A Coder Updated a Design from Adobe Flash to Paper.js

A website designer noted that Adobe will soon be getting rid of their Flash player, so the person rewrote their design app with paper. js. This coder wanted to know what others thought about the result compared to how the code worked in Flash. This person explained why they chose paper.js for their rewrite project and why it worked well for them.

A lot of people liked this diagram and the overall design app. Several of them suggested that the coder share it with other communities, including people who work in chemistry or teach chemistry. This is because the design featured by the coder has to do with the items commonly found in a chemistry lab.

Several people wondered when Adobe Flash player will actually go away. They have heard several times that Adobe was getting rid of Flash, but it is still around. One person wrote back to say that Chrome will stop supporting Flash in 2020, and Firefox will stop supporting it within the 2019 calendar year. People who have not already rewritten their designs in something else should get started with it now. The other browsers, including Edge, have already stopped supporting Flash. The idea that Adobe is getting rid of it is not new, and people have had quite a bit of time to prepare for it.

Another person wrote back with a comment that as a designer and motion picture creator and animator, they saw Flash from the start, used it, followed its evolution and watched it die a slow death. Even so, this person noted that other products, including JavaScript, have been slow to catch up to the functionality that Adobe Flash was able to provide to designers.

The original poster went on to explain that the two-dimensional model for visual effects offered by paper.js means that they had to do a lot of guesswork in seeing how different codes would come out. They were glad that they rewrote their code, but they also noted that the paper.js has a big library of interesting two-dimensional vectors, making this rewrite project somewhat enjoyable to do.
